Betty Schnauber

Funeral Services for Betty A. Schnauber, 76, a resident of Davenport, will be 10am Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, downtown Davenport.  Per her wishes, the rite of cremation will be accorded following the visitation.  Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Garden.  The family will greet friends Friday, January 29th from 3pm until 6pm at the funeral home.  Due to restrictions from the pandemic, masks must be worn and social distancing respected.  The service on Saturday will be livestreamed on Betty’s obituary at www.hmdfuneralhome.com.  The link will be activated at 9:55am Saturday.  Betty passed away Sunday, January 24, 2021 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, surrounded by her family.

Betty Ann Allen was born January 28, 1944 in Davenport, a daughter of Lawrence and Helen (Buemann) Allen.  She was a life-long resident of Davenport and was a graduate of West High School.  Betty retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 28 years of service.

Betty enjoyed sitting on the sunny front porch with a good book, scrapbooking, and a good mystery on the television. She also found joy in her monthly luncheons with her co-workers from the Arsenal.  Betty was known for her amazing bows for gift packages.

Memorials may be made to the Humility of Mary Battered Women’s Program.

Those left to honor Betty’s memory include her children:  Scott (Amy) Schnauber, Andy Schnauber, Aaron Schnauber, all of Davenport and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Helen and sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Donald) Menes.
