Rebecca Ann “Becky” Burke, 74, a resident of Davenport, died peacefully Sunday, October 19, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Becky’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Davenport. The family will greet friends from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the gathering space at St. Paul’s. Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
In recognition of the compassionate care from her team at UIHC and the many advancements yet to be made, memorial contributions may be made in support of the Gynecologic Oncology Research Fund (30-516-015) to the University of Iowa Center for Advancement, P.O. Rebecca Ann Konnath was born on April 13, 1951 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, a daughter of Eugene and Maxine (Baumann) Konnath. She attended St. John’s Grade School in Des Moines, Assumption High School, and Scott Community College.
Becky first worked at Burke Cleaners until starting her family. After her boys entered school, she became a partner with Koestner and Associates real estate appraisal where she worked for over 40 years. She was a longtime member of the Quad City Area Board of Realtors, ultimately serving as president. Becky was a committed member of the Catholic Service Board, donating her time toward causes close to her such as the Kahl Home and Cinderella Cellar.
Those who knew Becky best would describe her as gracious, stoic, and above all, a loving mother. Becky’s family was her pride and joy. She cherished every minute spent with them and enjoyed traveling to see them all over the country.
Those left to honor her memory are her sons: Chad Burke, Davenport, Thomas “T.J.” (Ann) Burke, Kenmore, Washington, David (Mary) Burke, Durango, CO; and Michael Burke, Los Angeles, California; grandchildren: Leighton, Everett, Callum, Ottilie, and Maxine; siblings: Susan (Fred) Waterman, Coralville, Iowa, Mark (Sally) Konnath, Millis, Massachusetts, Debbie (Dick) Koestner, Davenport and Theresa Konnath, Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents. May they all rest in peace.
