Barbara Estes

Barbara J. Estes, 87, of Davenport, passed away, Friday, October 24, 2025 at the Davenport Lutheran Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am until 8:00 pm at StayBridge Suites, 4728 Progress Drive, Bettendorf, on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Memorials may be made to her family.

Barbara was born on April 19, 1938 in Iowa City, Iowa, daughter of Floyd and Elena (Ingle) Estes. She was united in marriage to Gilbert Mallinger. They later divorced. She then found the love of her life Mike Garrow. He preceded her in death in 1997.

Barbara enjoyed old country music, oldies music and dancing. In her younger years she would frequent the casinos with her sister. She was also known to enjoy a cold beer, or two, from time to time. Barbara never lost her faith and held strong to her beliefs until the very end. Above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and cherished the moments spent with them. She will be deeply missed.

Those left to honor her memory include one brother Ralph; two sisters Vicky and Cindy; children s Kate, Scott Bailey, Billie and Craig; daughter-in-law Sara; grandchildren Cassie, Scottie, Anna, Levi, Kayla, Tyler, Devin, Derrick, Brandon and Joel; great grandchildren Hannah, Kaylee, Justyn, Emma, Shawntell, Keeyana, Alexia, MaKiah, Bently, Josiah, Javontay, Juliana, Junior, Myana, Ta’Nasia, Allyson, Kaeleigh, Kayden, Kamilla, Reme, Darian, Nylah, Karmeyah, Sean, Ji’erre and Je’Vin; and great great grandchildren Amariana, Millie, Michael, Madden, Rowen and Ja’Kai.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters Beverly, Cora and Pam, children Debra, Gilbert Jr. and Scott, grandchildren Tiffany, Tasha and Dani, and great grandchildren Blake and Derrick Jr.
