Austin Coffman

Austin Coffman, 35, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. Cremation has been accorded and a celebration of his life will be from 11am – 3pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at the Blue Grass Community Center. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established for his children.

Austin Edward Coffman was born July 30, 1991, in Davenport, to Dennis and Petie (Denney) Coffman.

Austin was a truck driver for Kinetic Logistics.

He was a true outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, bow hunt, kayak, and camp. But more than anything, he loved sharing those adventures with his family. Some of his greatest joys came from teaching his children to fish and hunt. He took pride in passing down what he knew, patiently teaching them the skills he had learned and, more importantly, showing them how special it was to spend time together outdoors.

Family was at the heart of his life. He loved being together, whether it was an adventure in the woods, a day on the water, a camping trip, or simply gathering around a meal he had cooked. He had a way of turning ordinary days into memories that his family will treasure forever.

He also had a special love for the Fourth of July. The food, the family, the fireworks, and the celebration of the day made it one of his favorite times of year. It was a holiday that brought together everything he loved, family, good food, being outdoors, and making memories.

Those left to honor his memory include his longtime companion, Katie Bahnsen; children Azlynn and Hayzen Coffman; parents Dennis and Petie Coffman, all of Davenport; sister Amanda Coffman and nephew Elijah Coffman of Blue Grass; maternal grandmother Sandy Whitesell of Milan, IL; paternal grandfather Carl Coffman of Montpelier, IA; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dogs Thor and Que.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather Clarence Whitesell and grandmother Marilyn Coffman
