Alvin R. Lee, 90, of Davenport, died peacefully at his home on July 15, 2026. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport.
Alvin was born on January 27, 1936, in Douglas County, Missouri, to Allie and Lucille (Ferrel) Lee. On May 18, 1956, he married the love of his life, Marlene “Rooney” (Teel) Lee. Together they shared a lifetime of love and built a family centered around one daughter, Missy Baldwin of Davenport.
Alvin spent his career working hard to provide for his family. He began as a tugboat operator on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers before joining Linwood Mining and Minerals, where he worked as a foreman for 45 years.
He found great joy in the outdoors and loved boating, camping, and fishing. Retirement allowed Alvin and Marlene to spend their winters at Rio Grande RV Park, where Alvin enjoyed serving as a maintenance man and making lasting friendships.
More than anything, Alvin cherished his family. He was a proud grandfather to Lydia Aderholt and Mark (Michelle) Baldwin and a devoted great-grandfather to Camden and Carson Aderholt and Theo, Marlee, and Oaklee Baldwin. His greatest happiness came from time spent with those he loved, and the memories he created with them will be treasured for generations.
Alvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marlene “Rooney” Lee; his parents, Allie and Lucille (Ferrel) Lee; his son-in-law, Jerry Baldwin; his grandson-in-law, Michael Aderholt; and his dear friends, Carm and Louie Watson.
