Larry R. Blowers, 76, a resident of Blue Grass, died Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 24, 2018 in the All Faith Chapel at Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Burial will be at Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House.
Larry was born May 22, 1942 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Robert and Eleanor (Bradbury) Blowers. In 1964 he married Verla Mae Nauerth. She preceded him in death May 3, 2001.
Larry was an over-the-road truck driver, driving for various companies, retiring from Roadway. His passion in life was golfing. In his younger years, Larry enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed wintering in and visiting Arizona.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter and her husband, Kelly and Jay Seltun of Chanhassen, Minnesota; grandchildren, Josie and Zach Seltun, Jake and Ellie Blowers; and a brother and sister-in-law, Ronald and Jimmey Blowers of Tonganoxie, Kansas.
In addition to his wife, Larry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bryce Blowers; and a grandson, Benjamin Blowers.
