Christine Anne Schebler, 62, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.

Funeral service and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Davenport. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may be made to Handicapped Development Center Endowment Fund, Our Lady of Victory Parish Foundation, or a charity of choice. Halligan McCabe DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport is assisting the family with arrangements.

Chris was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 18, 1956, the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Carstensen) Schebler. She attended Marquette Street School, graduated from Truman School and worked at the Handicapped Development Center. Chris was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Bee Gees. She loved and was loved by everyone, especially her family and her extended family and staff at the HDC. Chris had a great sense of humor and always enjoyed sharing a good joke.

Those left to honor her memory include her siblings, Pete (Pat) Schebler of Davenport, Mary Lou Huntington of Davenport, Bob (Jo) Schebler of Sparks, Nevada, Sue (Steve) Swisher of Davenport, and Deb (Denny) Chenoweth of Davenport; step-mother, Helen Schebler of Davenport; step-sister, Teresa (Tony) Edwards of Anacortes, Washington; step-brothers, Michael Decker of Pullman, Washington, Scott (Deanne) Decker of Ft. Pierce, Florida, and Tim (Roxanne) Decker of Sebastian, Florida; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.

Chris was preceded in death by her parents; a brother-in-law, Bill; and her lifelong friends: John Carstensen, Robin Gibb and Maurice Gibb.
