Life Legacy


Funeral services celebrating the life of Arnold G. “Arnie” Jasper, Sr., 79, of Moline, formerly of Davenport, will be 1pm Friday, July 19, 2013 at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries All Faith Chapel, 614 Main St., Downtown Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 11am until time of service at the funeral home on Friday. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or the Humane Society.
Mr. Jasper passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, surrounded by his family.
Arnold George Jasper was born March 4, 1934 in Davenport, a son of Henry and Marie (Reimers) Jasper, Sr. He was united in marriage to Mary Margaret Adcock on December 27, 1958 in Davenport. She preceded him in death on December 22, 1998.
Prior to his retirement after 20 years of service, Arnie had installed equipment for Hockenbergs.
He was a veteran of the Air Force.
Arnie enjoyed playing poker, fishing, reading Western novels, doing puzzle books and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include his children and their spouses Arnold (Christine) Jasper, Jr., Moline, Barbara (Joel) Dennis, Milan, IL, Connie Jasper, Walcott, Stella (Michael) Miller, Davenport, and Jeffrey (Heather) Jasper, Sr., Bettendorf; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters Rene Liberio, Moline, and Dorothy Longley, Bettendorf; sister in law Carol Jasper; and special buddy Coco.
In addition to his wife, Mary, he was preceded in death by his daughter Vickie Ullrick, parents, and brother Henry Jasper, Jr.
The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Hospice Compassus, Heartland Health Care and Hope Creek Care Center for the love and care given to Arnie.
